Actress, Playwright, Artistic and Stage director of the Porto theatre company Público Reservado, that she founded in 2013. Renata Portas directed several plays (including assemblages) of authors like: Valère Novarina, Heiner Müller, Euripides, Jean-Luc Lagarce, Luis Maffei, Pedro Eiras, Juan Mayorga, Franz Kafka, Peter Handke, Jean Anouilh, among others (since 2006). She completed the Acting course at Balleteatro (2001-2003) and studied Theatre Directing (Master, frequency) at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (2010). She holds a Postgraduation in Contemporary Art from ESAP - Porto Art School (2015-16). Her main interests in theatre research are: language, politics and Philosophy as ways to free theatre from reproduction or mimesis. Renata Portas has written plays like: Interlúdio and Câmara-Inferno (Companhia das Ilhas); Finisterra (TNSJ editions); A Boca de Telémaco é a Fortuna da Casa (to be published); Buraco Negro Ou Vórtice Amoroso Em Forma de Espinho (Público Reservado, 2018/19).
