Lecturer at ESAP, where he teaches at the Degree in Visual Arts - Photography and at the Master degree in Visual Arts, Artistic Practices and Research. In 2009 he completed his PhD at Middlesex University, London, under the guidance of Professors Peter Osborne and Éric Alliez. He has taught Critical Studies at Norwich University of the Arts and at Metropolitan Cardiff University, UK. Between 2007 and 2009, he presented a series of seminars in art theory at Ar.Co art school, Lisbon, on art and repetition in the postwar period and art and aesthetics in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. He is a research fellow at CEAA - Arnaldo Araújo Research Centre where he is a member of the Art and Critical Studies research group. Currently, he is Deputy Director of ESAP - Porto Art School.
